Rev. Dr. Aloysius Anyichie is a Catholic priest of Onitsha Archdiocese, an internationally recognized scholar, and educator. He is the Founding Director of the Office of Global Engagement at Shanahan University, Onitsha, where he leads efforts to expand global partnerships.
He completed his PhD in 2018 from the department of Educational and Counselling Psychology, and Special Education at the University of British Columbia, Vancouver (Canada) with specialization in Human Development, Learning and Culture, following a Master’s degree in Educational Psychology (MEd), and a Masters degree in Religion and Human Society from Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka, a Bachelor’s degree in Theology (B.Th.), and a Bachelor’s degree in Philosophy (B.Phil) from Urbaniana University Rome.
He has served on multiple university committees (e.g., Senate Research Committee, Centre for Teaching, Learning and Technology, and Faculty Hiring Committees), and held leadership roles in prominent academic and professional organizations (e.g., Co-Chair of the American Educational Research Association’s Self-Regulated Learning SIG, Co-chair, Manitoba Inclusive Education Professors’ Roundatable, and Member-at-Large for the Canadian Association for Educational Psychology).
Before moving to Canada, Fr. Anyichie served as Dean and Academic Coordinator at All Hallows Seminary, Onitsha, shaping the formation of future priests. His pastoral vocation deeply informs his commitment to human dignity, educational equity, and servant leadership.
At Shanahan University, he brings global insight and academic diplomacy to foster student and faculty exchange, research collaboration, and a mission-driven learning environment that empowers students to address real-world challenges with character and compassion.
